Weeks with visible marble floor 2026

The marble floor is made up of 56 mosaics, created between the 14th and 16th centuries by around forty artists. Outside of these weeks, parts of the floor are covered by protective panels.

Sundays and public holidays
On Sundays and public holidays, the Cathedral only opens after the morning services – usually from 1:30 PM. The rest of the complex (Crypt, Baptistery, Museo dell’Opera) is also accessible in the mornings.
