There are several arguments in favour of the OPA SI PASS:

- The ticket is valid for three days. You can therefore visit the monumental complex several times. However, each location on the site can only be visited once.

Please note, however, that you must redeem your online ticket on site at the ticket counter. It does not entitle you to immediate entry to the cathedral.
The monumental complex of Siena
The monumental complex of Siena comprises several historically and artistically significant elements that together form an impressive ensemble.
The cathedral of Siena
Siena Cathedral is an outstanding example of Gothic architecture in Italy. It was built in the 13th century and impresses with its black and white marble bands, which represent the coat of arms of the city of Siena. Inside are masterpieces such as the pulpit by Nicola Pisano and sculptures by Donatello, Michelangelo and Bernini. Particularly noteworthy are the magnificent wooden inlays in the choir, which were originally created by Fra Giovanni da Verona for the monastery of Monte Oliveto Maggiore and later brought to the cathedral.
The marble floor of Siena Cathedral is one of the most elaborate mosaic works in Italy. Created between the 14th and 16th centuries by around forty artists, the floor consists of 56 different marble inlays depicting scenes from the Bible and ancient mythology. The technique of "graffito" and later that of marble inlay were used to create these works of art. The floor is only completely uncovered for limited periods of the year.

The Piccolomini Library
The library, a magnificent room within the cathedral, was commissioned by Cardinal Francesco Todeschini Piccolomini (later Pope Pius III). It houses an important collection of illuminated manuscripts and is decorated with frescoes by the painter Pinturicchio depicting the life of Pope Pius II. In the centre of the room is the famous sculpture of the Three Graces, a Roman copy of a Hellenistic original.
The Panorama and the New Cathedral
The unfinished New Cathedral was originally intended to be the largest church in Christendom, but construction work was halted in the 14th century due to the plague. Today, the façade of the New Cathedral, adorned with white and black marble stripes, is an impressive sight. Visitors can enjoy a breathtaking view over the city from here and admire the remains of the monumental plans.
The Cathedral Museum (Museo dell'Opera)
The Cathedral Museum houses a valuable collection of sacred art, including paintings, sculptures and textiles. Highlights include the "Maestà" by Duccio di Buoninsegna, a monumental altarpiece, as well as works by Donatello, Giovanni Pisano and other important artists. The museum offers a deep insight into the art and history of Siena and its cathedral.
The crypt
In the crypt under the cathedral, which was only discovered in 1999, you can see frescoes from the 13th century depicting scenes from the life of Christ. The frescoes are excellently preserved and offer a rare insight into medieval art and theology. The crypt was buried for centuries and was thus spared from later remodelling.
The Baptistery of San Giovanni
The baptistery is located directly under the choir of the cathedral and is famous for its magnificent baptismal font, on which important artists such as Donatello, Lorenzo Ghiberti and Jacopo della Quercia worked. The interior is richly decorated with frescoes and sculptures depicting biblical stories and legends of saints.
The Oratory of San Bernardino
This oratory and the associated diocesan museum display an extensive collection of religious artefacts from the diocese of Siena, dating from the 13th to the 19th century. Particularly worth seeing are the frescoes and paintings by artists such as Sano di Pietro and Ventura Salimbeni, which illustrate the life of St Bernardine of Siena and other religious themes.
